Need a new workout? A monthly Handstand Club meets on Barrack Street

Admit it: you’d love to be able to do the perfect handstand.
If you’ve always watched in wonder as other (more limber and daring) folk stood upside down with ease, a city workshop is offering you the opportunity to learn how they do it.
Toronto movement and strength coach Sarah Anderson is on a mission to help people to make the impossible possible… and impress your kids while you’re at it.
Sarah shares her insights with a workshop designed to uncover the process of developing a freestanding handstand away from the wall at Cork Lotus Yoga.
Due to the popularity of the workshop, it’s now become a monthly gig; Handstand Club meets on the last Friday of every month.
Participants first complete a specific warm-up with joint preparation before learning about handstand alignment (how to skilfully enter and fall out of a handstand) and techniques on how to rebalance.
“This is a great opportunity for beginners to explore, and for experienced students to refine – all levels are welcome.” says Sarah.
The next Handstand Club meets at 7:30pm on Friday, November 30th at Long’s Yard, Tower Street (off Barrack Street), tickets are available here.
