This magical City Centre haven is ideal for a modern Cork wedding

Brought to you by St Peter’s Cork.
If you love where you live, why not make it the backdrop to your wedding day?
Whether it’s a huge bash or an intimate ceremony you’re dreaming of, the perfect venue for a chic city celebration is nestled quietly in one of our oldest streets.
St Peter’s on North Main Street is the alternative wedding venue that ticks all the boxes; not only is it utterly stunning to look at, it also boasts all the mod cons necessary for hosting a fabulous get-together.
Here are five great reasons to book a viewing this week:
1. The photo opportunities
Located smack, bang in the middle of historic North Main Street, St Peter’s is one of the city’s most photography-friendly spots.
You and your newly minted husband or wife can pose for cool urban photos in the street outside, stand lovestruck in the beautiful arched doorways or find a hidden corner in the secret garden for romantic snaps in the afternoon sunlight.
2. The history
St. Peter’s Church dates back to 1,270 when King Henry III granted patronage of the church to the Bishop of Cork. It was deconsecrated in 1949, but remains one of the most atmospheric locations in the city to say your vows.
Think classic tradition meets contemporary, with a sprinkling of artsy cool.
3. The space
St Peter’s can hold up to 200 people seated or 300 standing but it’s also perfect for smaller ceremonies.
Intimate groups can watch their loved ones tie the knot in the ancient alcove space, which allows for a maximum of ten people.
In the daytime, the sun streams in through the gorgeous medieval windows making everything look MAGICAL. There’ll be no Instagram filters required.
4. The creative freedom
If you’re the type of person who likes to do things your own way, St Peter’s is a (handsome) blank canvas for your event; the staff focus on helping couples plan their own unique, creative wedding celebrations. “Our approach is informal, friendly and relaxed but we are more than capable of assisting couples to plan something more traditional and formal if required.” says Venue Manager Eileen O’Shea.
“Each wedding can be as stripped back or fully designed as the couple please. We can work with external wedding planners and design teams and we are always happy to recommend local suppliers who we have worked with in the past.”
5. The location
If you plan on continuing the party in one of Cork’s fabulous hotels or restaurants, your wedding guests can easily stroll en masse to Jacobs on the Mall, The Imperial Hotel, The Cornstore and The Metropole Hotel, to name but a few.
No buses and taxis necessary, plus you can stop for more pictures or a sneaky glass of bubbles on your way!
THE DETAILS
All of these packages (prices here) include use of the red carpet if requested, 50 wine glasses/Champagne flutes, use of projection and sound equipment as well as a venue technician to assist.
