WEATHER: Cork set for a cooler, showery spell as humidity finally fades

Tired of feeling clammy all the time?
Slightly good news on that front; temperatures will drop into the high teens this week as Cork swaps sticky conditions for showers, breezes and cooler nights
Today, Tuesday is set to mark a noticeable change in the weather, with temperatures dropping back to between 17C and 20C as cooler westerly winds move in.
The day will start largely cloudy, with a few light showers around, before brighter spells develop during the afternoon. However, more scattered showers will move in from the west later on.
It will feel considerably fresher than recent days, particularly after the humidity of late.
Cooler nights ahead
The cooler conditions will become more noticeable overnight, with temperatures falling to between 11 and 14C.
Wednesday will bring more unsettled weather, with showers becoming widespread and potentially turning heavy or merging into longer spells of rain. Temperatures will range from 16 to 21C, with breezier conditions expected.
And it doesn’t quite stop there. Thursday is also looking wet and breezy, with widespread showers that could become heavy and prolonged at times. Temperatures will reach just 15C to 20C.
By Friday, there should be more in the way of sunny spells and drier weather, although showers will still feature and temperatures will remain on the cooler side at 14 to 19C.
The good news?
The current outlook suggests a more settled weekend, with sunny spells, isolated showers and temperatures generally in the mid to high teens.
