Cork Weather: It’s no heatwave, but there’s plenty to look forward to this week

Worried summer was about to disappear altogether? There’s some good news on that front.
While today, Wednesday, will be a little breezier and cooler than we’ve become used to, the forecast is looking surprisingly decent, with plenty of dry weather on the way for much of the rest of the week.
The rest of the day will bring a mix of bright spells and scattered showers, with temperatures reaching 15C to 19C. It’ll feel fresher thanks to gusty westerly winds, but there should still be plenty of opportunities to get outside between the showers.
The real highlight comes from Thursday and Friday, when much of the country is expected to stay mainly dry, with sunny spells and temperatures climbing to between 15C and 21C.
There will still be the odd shower around – particularly in the west and north – but for many, it’ll be a great couple of days for walks, coffee dates, or making the most of the brighter evenings.
The weekend does take a bit of a wobble.
Rain is expected to arrive on Friday night before making for a wetter Saturday, with some heavy bursts possible. Thankfully, it doesn’t look like it’ll stick around for too long, as Sunday is forecast to brighten up again with sunshine, scattered showers and plenty of dry spells.
So while it’s worth keeping the umbrella close by later in the week, there’s still lots of pleasant summer weather to enjoy before the weekend arrives.
