Learn the calming art of paper folding (over a good cup of coffee)

It’s the ancient art that can produce some major wellbeing benefits in modern life.
Now you can learn the soothing, peaceful craft of origami in a Cork City coffee shop, with workshops available for both adults and kids.
Sachiko’s Paper Crafts will host two beginner origami sessions on May 29th, 2019 at Caffè Nero, 16-17 Oliver Plunkett St, Cork.
A relaxing mindfulness technique that can be done anywhere you can find a piece of paper, origami has been shown to improve dexterity, concentration and hand-eye coordination.
The kids’ session (children ages six to twelve years, accompanied by a guardian) takes place from 4pm to 5pm.
The adults’s session runs from 6pm to 7pm on the same evening.
Entry to both classes is €5 to cover the costs of materials, which will be provided, and can be paid directly to Sachiko, the facilitator, on the day.
In Japanese culture, it is believed that folding more than 1,000 paper cranes can make a wish come true… not a bad reason to practice.
