Courtmacsherry is planning a giant Seafood Feast – and we’re already drooling

If fresh-off-the-boat seafood is your thing, keep the May bank holiday weekend free.
Seven Heads Peninsula Tourism are putting the finishing touches to the first ever Courtmacsherry Seafood Feast, set to take over the seaside town on Sunday, May 6th.
The festival will celebrate the rich fishing heritage of the village and showcase the finest local culinary talents.
Foodies will be able to get expert tips with cookery demonstrations from renowned seafood chefs and eat their way around a range of artisan food stalls from local producers, with loads of brilliant street entertainment to enjoy along the way.
Lar McCarthy from The Little Red Fish Company will be demonstrating the best way to fillet a fish, while Sean Smith, head chef at Cliff Townhouse, Anthony Creswell of Ummera, and Karen Austin from The Lettercollum Kitchen Project will show everyone the best ways to cook and serve it.
Susan Steele will be on hand with tips on how to add various types of seaweed to your diet (it’s packed with nutrients and oddly delicious when served correctly) and you can pick up some seaweed butters, oils, teas and seasoning from Wild Atlantic Way Products.
Fresh from scooping the award for ‘Best London Dry’ at the World Gin Awards 2018, Kinsale Gin will be keeping everyone hydrated on the day and Tony Speight from West Cork Coffee will be on caffeine duty, meaning there’s an artisan beverage for everyone on offer.
The Lifeboat Inn’s new dining deck will also be open for business, so book a table in advance it you fancy devouring your crab claws and oysters al fresco.
Local food producers and retailers keen on showcasing their produce are also invited to set up a stall at the event.
