Hang on, a book club in a distillery? Now you’re talking

Cork is firmly in its book club era.
With little gatherings popping up all over the city and county, the latest addition will appeal to anyone who likes a tipple.
Rebel City Distillery has announced the launch of its very own book club, bringing readers together every couple of months for relaxed chats in good company.
The team behind the Cork distillery, owned by Bhagya Barrett and her husband Robert, said the idea has been brewing for quite some time.
“If you follow us on social media, you’ll probably know that we love books almost as much as we love our Maharani and Absinthe,” they shared.

“For a long time, we’ve wanted to start a little book club at the distillery. Over the years, we’ve met so many of you who love reading too, and many lovely conversations have started with, ‘What are you reading?’ So, we’re finally making it happen.”
The club will meet every two months on a Sunday at 2pm at the distillery in the Marina Commercial Park, Centre Park Road, for what promises to be a cosy afternoon of books, conversation and meeting fellow readers.
Best of all, it’s completely free to attend. The only catch? They’re keeping it intentionally intimate, with just 10 places available for each session.
If you’d like to grab a spot, you’ll need to send Rebel City Distillery a direct message or email info@rebelcitydistillery.com.
