Thanks, Penneys!

It’s the stock phrase we’ve all said in reply to a compliment about our jacket/boots/jumper/eyelashes.

Now a Cork cocktail bar has invented a special drink to celebrate our special relationship with Ireland’s greatest discount fashion slingers.

Cask on MacCurtain Street just unveiled their brand new cocktail menu for autumn and the first new drink is called… the ‘Penneys Hun, Five Euro!’

A tasty blend of blueberry Bombay Sapphire, lillet rouge, suze lavender and prosecco, it sounds absolutely delicious too.

Cocktail names need to depict the theme and ethos of your bar. In our case, love Cork, have the craic and don’t take yourself to seriously! #pennys #cork #corkireland #guineysisbetter #corktails #autumn #autumnmenu

The Penneys Hun, Five Euro joins the ‘Children of the Corn’, the ‘Head the Ball’, the ‘Dowtcha Bai’ and the ‘My Brother Knows Karl Marx’ on the menu of Ireland’s best cocktail bar.

You can try them all for between €9 and €13, which in fairness will buy you much more fun in Cask than it will in Penneys.
