Heard of Moon Milk? Apparently it’s the recipe for a great night’s sleep

A decent night’s sleep is the hottest commodity going these days.
We all dream of getting a solid eight hours kip, so anything that will help us nod off is worth a shot.
The latest all-natural trick? Moon Milk: a pastel coloured concoction that has been trending in a major way this week.
Pinterest is reporting a whopping 700% increase in its users saving recipes for Moon Milk – the latest wellness trend to sweep the globe.
Everyone knows that warm milk is an age-old remedy for helping you to drift off, but apparently, adding a few extra ingredients can really bring that deep sleep back within your grasp.
“The adaptogens in Moon Milk promote relaxation,”certified culinary nutritionist Neda Varbanova tells HelloGiggles.
“Milk itself also contains tryptophan and melatonin, which are natural substances that are known for inducing sleep.”
Can I make Moon Milk at home?
Sure. It’s pretty simple too. Start with a milk of your choice (cow’s milk, oat milk, almond milk… whatever your preference), then add a sweetener to taste (honey, agave or maple syrup work well).
Next up is Ashwagandha powder, which has been used in Ayurveda for thousands of years. A renowned ‘adaptogenic herb’, it is used to help the body resist stress and you’ll find it in most health food stores.
Pop in some cinnamon and a sprinkle of matcha powder for a green milk, turmeric for a golden milk and beetroot extract for a pink milk.
Voila! A soothing cocktail, designed to help you catch some serious zzzzzzs.
