Penney’s just announced a major price drop happening in Cork stores this winter

Here’s a rare piece of good news for cash-strapped parents.
Penney’s just announced a plan to lower the prices on hundreds of kidswear products as part of its upcoming autumn/winter collections.
The move will apply to the price points of selected product ranges landing in its 37 stores across Ireland from the end of July and aims to help family finances go further.
“For so many people across Ireland, household finances continue to be stretched, and we know that great value matters now more than ever to our shoppers.” said Damien O’Neill, Head of Penneys Ireland and Northern Ireland.
“For families across the country, kids’ clothing is an essential purchase, and getting ready for a new school year can be a really expensive time. We want to help ease some of that pressure for our shoppers, by lowering the prices on hundreds of our kids’ essentials, while continuing to offer the same great choice and quality that Penneys is known for.”
The clothing giant is taking steps to counteract the effects of fast fashion; 50 percent of Primark’s clothes are made using recycled or more sustainably sourced materials, up from 25 percent a year ago.
The new lower prices will see kids’ leggings and long-sleeve shirts reduced from €3 to €2.30, hoodies reduced from €7 to €4.50 and children’s fleece winter nightwear reduced from €8 to €5.50.
The discounts will be available on selected kids’ clothing landing in all Cork Penneys stores from July 31st, 2023.
