Penneys is hosting two free clothing repair workshops in the city store

There’s a sewing kit in it for you.
If you’ve been meaning to get in touch with your inner seamstress, mend your own clothes, and put a handy new hemline on that favourite old dress- Penneys has just the thing.
The retailer is hosting not one but two workshops in their Patrick Street shop this month.
The first, which takes place on Wednesday, August 23rd from 10.30-12pm is a Repurpose and Relove Workshop- a master class where you will learn simple sewing techniques so that you can revamp and repair clothes you already have and give them a longer life.
The second workshop takes place just an hour later at 1pm and focuses on embroidery. Participants will learn different hand-sewing techniques such as visible mending embroidery and patchwork so you can change up the entire look of any garment.
Both workshops will be hosted by textile artist Orla Kelly and take around 90 minutes. All participants will be coming away with a cute tote bag and their very own sewing kit to repair any more bits they have at home.
Both workshops are free to attend and you can register for the Repurpose and Relove workshop here and the Embroider & Repair workshop here.
