This 3-hour Mayan Cacao Ceremony could be the escape you never knew you needed

It feels like everyone is on some kind of spiritual journey these days.
If you fancy jumping on the bandwagon in search of reconnection, inner healing and whatever you’re having yourself, an upcoming evening at The Yoga Loft on Monahan Road could be just the ticket.
Fresh from a recent immersion with the Mayan Tribe in the heart of volcanic Lake Atitlan in Guatemala, DJ/producer, medicine and energy worker, Jeriko Phoenix is inviting Cork folk to take an inner journey to the emotional centre of your body with a Mayan Cacao Ceremony and Full Moon Ecstatic Dance on Sunday, June 16th, 2019.
Phoenix practices cosmological, healing and ancient ceremonial traditions using Ceremonial Cacao, an ancient Shamanic healing tool.
Rebalancing act
According to the organisers, these types of healing ceremonies work to “re-balance energies in the body to regain health”.
Happily, unlike other shamanic rituals, drinking cacao will not make you hallucinate or give you some sort of ‘out-of-body’ psychedelic experience.
“Cacao instead, is a heart opening medicine for people to safely experience gentle and warm awakening, revelation and inner healing.” say the organisers, RiJuve.
“When used in a sacred medicinal ritual, where intentions are set to invite the inner guidance of Cacao spirit and, once consumed, euphoric states of varying degrees can be unlocked. Negative emotions can be released and we are able to connect to ourselves and natural universal energy of the heart – ‘’LOVE.’’
Afterwards an Ecstatic Dance session aims to reconnect participants with their natural rhythms.
Tickets for the three-hour experience are €25 here and each one comes with information on the Mayan Tzolkin,
the sacred Mayan calendar.
