The Salty Dog has announced an opening date for its first Cork City eatery

Mark your calendars, seafood fans.
The Salty Dog opens its doors on MacCurtain Street, Cork City, on Monday, August 24th.
The new restaurant is part of a major expansion plan by Flynn Cush Hospital Group, which owns CUSH in Midleton, Sea Church and the original Salty Dog in Ballycotton.
Led by Managing Director of the Flynn Cush Hospitality Group, Oliver Falter, the expansion will begin in Galway before Salty Dog opens in other cities across the country.

Chef Frederick Desormeaux’s menu of lunch and light bites places ocean-fresh catches firmly centre stage, showcasing a rich array of seafood staples alongside refined, coastal-inspired dishes.
Highlights include Fred’s Mediterranean Fish & Seafood Chowder (packed with cod, smoked haddock, salmon, prawns, and mussels), steamed Organic Mussels in a classic white wine and cream sauce, crispy Breaded Monkfish Scampi, pan-fried Sea Bass Fillets over saffron beurre blanc, and a delicate AAA-Grade Tuna Tataki with ginger and wasabi.
Local highlights like Ballycotton smoked salmon and shrimp Marie Rose also elevate open brown sandwiches, chowder combos, and toasted specials.
Beyond the sea, the menu rounds out with hearty pub classics and elevated comfort fare, featuring a 12-hour slow-cooked beef feather blade, a double smash beef burger, buttermilk chicken shawarma, pulled pork crostini, and classic toasted sandwiches paired with J.J. Wall’s beef dripping chips.
