Plan a road trip to Yoga Fest – two days of blissful self care in a magical castle

By Yay Cork June 21, 2024June 7, 2024

Brought to you by Yoga Fest.

Calling all Cork yogis…

Unfurl your mats and get ready to downward dog your way to serenity – this August, the inaugural Yoga Fest is rolling into Limerick’s majestic Springfield Castle for two days of blissful stretching and soul-soothing vibes.

Over Saturday, August 3rd and Sunday, August 4th, 2024, the grounds of the elegant castle, the ancestral home of Lord and Lady Muskerry, will come alive with a local artisan market, yoga, Pilates and meditation workshops and classes, holistic therapies and a host of other creative pursuits you can explore.

Yoga Fest is the result of months of hard work by Claudia Escobar and Christine Love, two passionate yoga teachers from North Cork.

What’s on the agenda at Yoga Fest?

Whether you’re a seasoned sun salutator or a curious newbie, Yoga Fest promises something for everyone; there’s Chair Yoga, which is accessible to all, regardless of your mobility, Prenatal Yoga and Family-Friendly Yoga, where kids are not just welcome, but are guaranteed to have a blast.

You can drop by the Men’s Circle, take a Yoga for Menopause class or try Menstrual Health Yoga too – it’s the ideal opportunity to find something new if that’s what you’ve been seeking.

And it doesn’t stop there! In between sessions, fuel your practice with delicious healthy eats from on-site vendors, browse mindful merchandise at the pop-up market, or simply relax and connect with fellow yogis in the serene castle grounds. ️

Food trucks will be firing up the grills to keep everyone energised throughout the two days so you can pick up something delicious to eat al fresco, surrounded by lush greenery, or plan a picnic in the woods.

There’s even a DJ spinning tunes for anyone who likes a boogie after a day of movement and mindful practice.

“Yoga Fest is a two-day festival of all things yoga and wellbeing for all the family,” the organisers told us.

“Whether you come to Yoga Fest for the yoga workshops, the energising breathwork classes or the soul-nourishing food and music, we are sure you’ll leave feeling uplifted and alive!”

Springfield Castle Yoga Retreat

If you can’t get enough yoga this summer, you can join the Yoga Fest crew from August 6th to 9th, 2024 for a soul-nourishing Yoga Retreat at Springfield Castle. The experience will be filled with yoga, meditation, chants, dances, and cherished moments with kindred spirits in the serenity of the castle’s stunning grounds. Guests will immerse themselves in daily yoga practices, find inner peace through meditation, and chant and dance to their heart’s content.

The retreat package includes comfortable accommodation, delectable meals to nourish your body, a delightful goodie bag filled with surprises, and two days of gentle yoga classes guided by knowledgeable and experienced teachers. Individual rooms (€650) and shared rooms (€550) are available here.

Tickets to the festival are on sale through yogafestireland.ie and prices start at €45 for a child and €75 for an adult, giving you access to the festival for a full day, August 3rd and 4th Springfield Castle, Dromcollogher P56 DC42. Weekend tickets are available too.
