Now you can go to an Improv Playgroup for adults (and it might ease your anxiety)

Does the idea of public speaking bring you out in hives?
If you’re looking for a surefire way to step out of your comfort zone and conquer your fears (without passing out in terror in the process) this could be a fun way to dip a toe into the wild world of self-expression.
Every Sunday at 5.30pm, the South Parish Community Centre on Sawmill Street in Cork City is transformed into a playgroup for adults of all ages – the only rule is that you must be over 18.
Facilitated by Micheál and Aodhán, who are both active in improvised theatre and are passionate about the many benefits of play, the class is billed as and “open space to play, using simple drama games and fun exercises”.
Group members go along for a variety of reasons, with some keen to improve their acting skills and others simply looking for a way to build their confidence, reduce anxiety and find their voice in social situations.
According to recent research, joining an improv class has been shown to offer a host of brilliant benefits, from enhanced problem solving and decision making skills to relaxation, collaboration and simply having a good old laugh at yourself.
