Craving some reconnection with nature?
Just ten minutes outside Clonakilty, yoga fans are kicking off their shoes and making contact with the earth at an alfresco yoga class where the weather never puts a dampener on things.
Nestled in a sheltered meadow beside the Argadeen River near Timoleague, Flow Yoga’s summer home is a stretch tent, set up at the home of yoga instructor Jess Hatchett.
Throughout August, Jess will be offering classes and day retreats in the unique space, which has a hessian floor and contains all the necessary yoga props.
There’s an indoor loo too, in case you’re wondering.
Here’s the weekly class schedule (pre-book: €17)
- Tuesday evening, 6.30pm-8pm
- Wednesday morning, 10am-11.30am
- Thursday morning, 9.30am (from August 27th)
- Thursday evening at 7pm (from August 27th)
Jess is also running a series of Under Canvas Day Retreats, a series of yoga days designed to help participants “restore, reset, reconnect and find your way back to yourself after the challenges of the last few months.”
Sounds heavenly.
The retreats focus on Hatha and Vinyasa yoga and they’re suitable for all levels, with somatic flows, breath practice, tantra style energy practices, meditation and yoga nidra included in the schedule.
The next retreat is planned for Sunday, August 30th, 2020 and it’s €90 for the day (10am-5pm, tickets here) which includes a vegetarian buffet lunch, cooked on the premises and served in the meadow or yoga tent depending on the weather.
Covid measures are in place too: “We will maintain a high level of hygiene and cleaning, will be providing hand sanitiser and will be asking students to bring their own mat to cover the one provided and their own blanket to cover props provided.” says Jess.
