Cork will bask in 23C exam weather as the Leaving Cert begins

Today’s the day.
Almost 121,000 students will begin their Leaving and Junior Cert exams this morning… and not a moment too soon for those of us eager to kick back and enjoy some classic exam weather.
According to Met Éireann, we can expect to be basking in highs of 21C as our brave youngsters get to grips with English Paper 1.
Thursday is set to be even hotter, with temperatures surpassing 23C and clear skies over Cork, so swot up on your sunscreen application technique if you’re no headed into an exam hall.
By the time Geography begins on Friday, the sun will be splitting the stones near Ireland’s oxbow lakes. In fact, the 21C heat will make it the perfect day for a dip.
The blazing heat is set to stay for the weekend too, so do remind determined students to open a window while they’re studying… but not so wide that they may be distracted by the scent of 25 barbecues sizzling away at once.
