Heavy rain and spot flooding on the way as Met Éireann brings the bank holiday blues

At least we caught a few decent rays on Sunday.
Met Éireann is predicting a soggy week of rain and drizzle ahead, although temperatures will remain warm at around 17C to 19C with the odd sunny spell too.
“After a mainly dry start, rain will become widespread this morning and turn heavy at times, leading to spot flooding.” said a forecaster.
“There’ll be poor visibility at times leading to hazardous driving conditions.”
Tonight will be muggy, barely dropping below 17C after dark, but showers early on Tuesday will clear and there’ll be sunny spells in the afternoon, with highest temperatures 19 to 23 degrees.
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday look set to bring a mix of sunny spells and light scattered showers, but there’s better news for next week:
“Current indications suggest that high pressure will continue to slowly build in to the weekend leading to mostly dry and settled conditions.”
Best not to deflate your paddling pool just yet.
