This city bar had Franc turn their beer hall into a winter wonderland

How about a hot Chieftain IPA to warm your cockles on a frosty afternoon?
The Franciscan Well Brewery and Brew Pub is the ideal spot for a few cosy Christmas pints in December, but this year they’ve stepped things up a notch and enlisted the help of Ireland’s favourite event planner to create an extra special atmosphere.
Peter ‘Franc’ Kelly and his team of Christmas elves have transformed the Well’s North Mall beer hall into a winter wonderland – and it’s top of our list for a visit this weekend.
Filled with twinkling lights and festive decorations, the hall will host a kid-friendly Christmas Market every weekend from now until December 16th.
There’ll be a gin bar, plenty of cocktails, ciders and mulled wines on offer alongside the Franciscan’s huge range of craft beers, ales, lagers and stouts, and you can even try a homemade Rebel Red punch if you’re in the market for something different.
The Pompei Pizza oven will be fired up to provide some much-needed soakage and there’ll be tours of the brewery and tastings happening from 1pm to 6pm each day.
To make things even more enticing, sixteen local artists have also set up stalls selling handmade gifts so you can do a bit of Christmas shopping with your pint.
Legend has it that water from the ancient well underneath the pub had miraculous and curative properties, so we’re taking it as a given that the following morning will be hangover free too.
