Four spots with the best iced coffees in Cork this weekend (and yeah, you can add booze)

By Katie Mythen-Lynch May 1, 2021April 30, 2021

There are few drinks that tick as many boxes as a boozy iced coffee.

It’s a mix that contains all your caffeine requirements, a decent dose of sugar and chocolate, and a naughty hit of alcohol – what more could you want from a weekend treat?

If you’re only meeting up with a mate for one or two takeaway tipples in town (with public loos non-existent in the city centre, it’s a bad idea to chance a third) you better make them count.

Here are four great iced coffees to try this week:

ATLAS

Where: Oliver Plunkett Street

Cork’s newest bar is gearing up for its first summer in the city with a menu of delicious drinks to-go. This weekend you can hit the Atlas hatch for their newest cocktail; a magical blend of orange chocolate and espresso martini with Three Fools Coffee and Five Farms Irish Cream.

Help them come up with a name for it on Instagram and you could win a round for you and three mates.

O’SHO

Where: Barrack Street

Over at O’SHO, the gang has rolled out a new Frappes menu with added ‘oomph’.

Swing by for a Strawberry & Coconut Frappe Cocktail with Badger & Dodo Brazillian Roast, Absolut Vodka, Malibu, strawberry pureè, lashings of whipped cream and pink sprinkles.

The hatch is open from Wednesday to Sunday 1pm-9pm.

The Franciscan Well

Where: North Mall

Iced coffees are a go at The Fran Well this weekend – order them without alcohol if you like, but we’ll be taking ours spiked with Bailey’s, Spiced Rum, Irish whiskey or Kahlúa. They do a mean Watermelon Daiquiri Slushie to go too.

The back door will be open all weekend, starting Friday at noon.

Arthur Maynes

On Pembroke Street, the Arthur Maynes hatch has become a popular stop for people seeking out a properly chocolatey iced mocha. Grab a Roast Sweet Potato & Black Quinoa Salad and some of their Veggie Samosas too.

Arthur Maynes is open seven days a week from 12pm ’til 9pm.
