Run, don’t walk to Harley Street for these elite Turkish wraps from the grill

It’s the perfect meal, in our book.
And if, like us, you’re a fan of sizzled meats and crisp, fresh salad veggies piled into a freshly baked wrap and devoured on the go, then make your way over to Harley Street in an orderly fashion this weekend.
From Thursday to Sunday, 12pm to 9pm, Turkish food truck Lokma Lane is serving up a choice of authentic Turkish street food cooked fresh on a lava stone gas grill on Harley Street, beside The Metropole Hotel.
Owner, chef Omer Deniz has been cooking for 14 years, starting his career in his native Türkiye and later moving to Leeside.
“About three and a half years ago, I moved from Turkey to Cork to improve my English and experience life in a different country,” Omer told Yay Cork.
“I worked at The Montenotte Hotel for three years. After those three years, I had the opportunity to start my own food business here in Cork officially. Along the way, I fell in love with Ireland, met my wife here, and we’ve since built our life together. That inspired me to bring a part of my Turkish heritage to Cork through food.”
At Lokma Lane, Omer serves authentic Turkish street food using recipes and techniques he has developed through years of experience.
“My menu features four charcoal-grilled favourites: Adana Kebab, made with a traditional blend of 50 per cent lamb and 50 per cent beef; marinated chicken chops; chicken shish made with tender chicken breast; and homemade Turkish meatballs made from 100 per cent Irish beef, just like our mothers make at home,” he told us.

Every dish is served with a selection of traditional Ottoman-style mezzes. Wraps are €12, with boxed meals for €13 and Mezze Boxes from €8.
“All of my mezzes are vegetarian and gluten-free, including smoked aubergine with yoghurt, garlic and peanuts, mixed fire-roasted vegetables, and a fresh homemade spicy meze,” Omer added.
