Your family’s secret brown bread recipe could win you a whopping €15k in dough

Are you a dinger at the brown bread?
If your loaf is better than anything you can pick up in the shops, now there’s a chance to get your brown bread into 150 Aldi stores nationwide… and walk away with the grand prize of €15,000.
The budget supermarket has just launched its annual Brown Bread baking competition for 2023.
The competition will open to all members of the public with entrants in Cork invited to drop off their freshly baked bread at Aldi in Oakwood, Macroom on Wednesday, July 26th between 9am and 11am.
This year, finalists will be contacted by August 11th and invited to take part in the live finals at the National Ploughing Championships from September 19th – 21st in Ratheniska, Co. Laois.
One lucky baker will be crowned the winner and their brown bread will be stocked in 157 ALDI stores nationwide while they take home a prize of €15,000.
“Taking part in the National Brown Bread Baking Competition has been a life-changing experience.” said last year’s winner Daragh O’Brien.
“Not only did I become the first male winner of the competition, but I got to share my recipe with the country and see my brown bread stocked in my local ALDI. I encourage all amateur bakers to enter this year’s competition and wish everyone the best of luck.”
The competition is free and open to all members of the public. Find out more about how to enter here.
