You could get very lucky…
A two-bedroom house in Cork city centre has been put up on a raffle website where tickets cost just €20.
Using raffle website Raffall, Cork man Paul O’Sullivan explained: “I have enjoyed every minute living in this ‘oasis in the city’ but my dream, now, is to move to the countryside and find a home, on an acre, where I can farm food. Raffall looks to be a way for me to achieve my dream while offering someone else the opportunity to win a home of their own.”
Along with two bedrooms, one bathroom, a kitchen, a dining room and living room, the house on Evergreen Road also comes with a “handmade teak bar” and a “four-person sauna with a plunge pool.”
“At the bottom of the garden is a newly-installed barrel-sauna large enough for four people to enjoy. This Scandinavian, pine sauna doubles as a work-from-home pod or simply as a place to relax, play music or read a book.”
According to O’Sullivan, the house is valued at €320,000, is 2km from UCC and has a bus on the doorstep that goes to Munster Technological University.
The raffle will be held either on the 1st of March next year, or when the last ticket is sold (50,000 tickets have been made available). There’s also the added sweetener of €5,000 prize money thrown in for the winner.
5% of all ticket sales will to the Our Garden mental health facility on the grounds of St Mary’s Primary Care Centre.
While this does sound a bit off-the-wall, Raffall does guarantee that should the lister not follow through on their prize, the winner of the raffle is guaranteed the value of 75% of all tickets sold — which, in this case, could end up amounting to €750,000.
