Fancy a dip in your birthday suit?
A Cork leisure centre is reserving an evening swim session exclusively for swimmers who like to dive in sans togs.
Fermoy Leisure Centre and the Irish Naturist Association are hosting a Nude Swim on Sunday, February 2nd, 2020, with all facilities, including the 25-metre pool, sauna, steam room and splash pool, available to bathers in the buff from 5.30pm until 6.30pm.
Founded in 1963, the group is celebrating over 50 years of naturist activities in Ireland. Members include individuals, couples and families, who enjoy regular meet-ups and events, as well as foreign trips and holidays throughout the year.
So why swim in the nude? Well, according to the INA, the benefits are many:
“There is no swimsuit to (possibly) chafe, your whole body slips through the water, without any encumbrances other than those nature gave you when you were born. And, as an added bonus, when you get out, there’s no wet/clammy swimsuit to wander around/sit in – your skin dries much quicker than any swimsuit, and it’s much more comfortable.”
Tickets are available now (€10-€15) from the Irish Naturist Association website.
