There’s nowhere like it when the sun is shining.
And now that Mother Nature has finally ceased pelting us with rain, it seems that everyone in Ireland is eyeing up West Cork as a late summer staycation destination… that’s if they’re not down there already.
Michelin-starred restaurant Chestnut in Ballydehob opened for the first time this season on Thursday night. Meanwhile, a host of holidaying Irish celebrities and Instagram folk have been flocking to the Rebel County coast for a bit of rest and relaxation.

TV host and entrepreneur Darren Kennedy took to Twitter to share a photo of himself enjoying the jaw-dropping scenery of Glengarriff this afternoon.
The area has a unique climate thanks to a steady flow of warm ocean currents from the Caribbean, which might explain why Mr Kennedy went sans-wetsuit for a kayak around the coastline.
