Guests say this rustic converted barn is a ‘slice of heaven’ getaway in West Cork

It’s a gorgeous time of year for a getaway.
And if your idea of a perfect break involves quiet mornings, good coffee, long cycles and evenings by the fire, this beautifully restored barn in Enniskeane may be your next escape.
Set on a working West Cork farm, the one-bedroom barn blends rustic character with thoughtful modern comfort.

Once a grain store, the space has been carefully converted to retain its original charm — think exposed beams, timber floorboards and antique furniture — while quietly adding the things that make staying easy, from a full-sized oven and power shower to WiFi, Netflix and a dishwasher.
Surrounded by green fields and birdsong, the barn sits in a mature garden beside the farmhouse, offering privacy without isolation.

There’s ample parking, a private outdoor seating area for catching the evening sun, and a sense of calm that city life rarely delivers. Inside, a large wood-burning stove anchors the space, making it just as appealing on cooler spring nights as it is on bright mornings.
Location-wise, it strikes the sweet spot. Clonakilty and Inchydoney Beach are close enough for lunch and shopping, spontaneous swims and long coastal walks, while Kinsale’s restaurant and café scene is an easy drive away for those who like their rural escapes with a side of good food.
Ideal for couples, cyclists and walkers, this Enniskeane barn is a base for exploring West Cork — or for doing very little at all.
The only likely interruption? A friendly welcome from the resident dogs, Kerry and Perro, who are known for enthusiastic greetings and an appreciation for ear scratches.
“We stayed for three nights on our Irish road trip, and it was by far the most relaxing part of our stay,” says Liz, a recent guest.
“Teresa was an amazing host, leaving us lots of goodies on arrival and even allowing my daughter to play with her grandson one morning while I packed the car! We really didn’t want to leave and will most certainly be returning when we’re next in Ireland.”
As the season settles in, this is the kind of place that invites you to slow down, unplug and stay a little longer than planned. Check out the next available dates from €277 for two night here.
