Today’s weather is pretty grim (but things will be brighter in Cork by Thursday)

It’s been a miserable week so far.
But while Met Éireann is forecasting another wet and windy day in Cork today, we can at least look forward to a bit of dry weather by tomorrow (Thursday).
Wednesday will be wintry, to say the least (persistent heavy rain will likely lead to localised flooding and will fall as sleet at times in places, with snow possible on high ground) but it will turn largely dry and clear after dark.
Wednesday night will be cold with lowest temperatures of 5 to -1 degrees: A sharp or severe frost will set in along with some icy stretches too.
And now for the good news; Thursday is likely to be one of the drier and brighter days this week:
“Most areas wil be dry with sunny spells, but with freshening southerly winds developing later. Highest temperatures of 7 to 9 or 10 degrees.” said a forecaster.
Hey, it’s not amazing but enjoy it while you can; the weekend is looking very unsettled with further wet and windy spells expected.
