This weekend will see brief reprieve from heavy rain

Mere moments of dry weather on the horizon.
Cork will get only a brief reprieve from this week’s pounding rain, according to Met Éireann’s latest regional forecast for Munster.
This afternoon (Friday, October 29th) is set to mirror the last few days of heavy rainfall, especially in the afternoon when we can expect showers to turn heavy and prolonged in the afternoon. Scattered heavy showers will also persist through the night.
Saturday will be a much better and brighter day than we’ve experienced throughout the rest of the week. Scattered showers earlier in the day will become isolated, paving the way for sunny spells and a dry, bright afternoon with temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees. Clouds will also emerge in the west of the county as the day wears on.
While there will be the occasional sunny spell on Sunday, the headline weather is “showers or longer spells of rain, with some showers heavy” and strong breezes along the western coastline.
Outbreaks of rain are expected to carry on into the night and take us into next week.
