Pescatarians rejoice!

There’s nothing like fresh fish and chips in the sunshine to make it feel like summer and a new market will be offering crispy cod and haddock aplenty (and much more) on Cork’s waterside.

The Port of Cork at the Bonded Warehouses will be taken over by a seafood market on June 9th, 2018.

The maritime event will see paella stalls, fish and chips sellers, sushi makers and oyster shuckers gather in a celebration of local seafood as part of the Ocean to City and Cork Harbour Festival.

Foodies can chow down on their favourite fish dishes at Boats & Bites from 4pm until 7pm.

Bellies full, festival goers will have a chance to row in a traditional currach with Naomhóga Chorcaí – Corks’ Currach Rowing Club, the beautiful 10 rower longboat Fionnbarra Boat or a paddle in a Chinese dragon boat with Cork Dragons.

A currach exhibition will take place in the Bonded Warehouses and you can even take a tour of the Pelican of London Tall Ship and the Irish Naval Ship berthed and welcoming visitors on the north channel.

A full schedule for the day is available here.
