Popular Kinsale eatery Finns’ Farmcut is closing its doors for good this summer

“The rumours are true Yawl!”
Popular Kinsale spot Finns’ Farmcut is set to close its doors for good this summer — but not without a pretty exciting next chapter on the horizon.
Owners John and Julie Finn have revealed they’re taking over the well-known Aherne’s Seafood Restaurant in Youghal, marking a big move for the duo who’ve already made their mark on Cork’s food scene. Before opening Finns’ Farmcut, the pair also ran Dillon’s Restaurant in Timoleague, so it’s safe to say they know what they’re doing when it comes to running a much-loved local spot.

Sharing the news on Instagram, Julie said:
“John, Bill and I wanted to let you all know that we’ll be closing Finn’s Farmcut Kinsale to begin an exciting new chapter with the purchase of Aherne’s Townhouse & Seafood Restaurant, Youghal.”
While the move is an exciting one, it’s clear the decision hasn’t been an easy goodbye.
“While we’re excited for what’s ahead, it’s hard to leave a place and community that has meant so much to us. A huge heartfelt thank you to all our wonderful customers, neighbours, local businesses, family, friends and amazing staff for your continued support, loyalty and friendship over the years — we truly couldn’t have done it without you.”
The team plans to officially close Finns’ Farmcut at the end of June, before stepping into their new venture in Youghal shortly after.
But before that, they’re hoping to welcome back as many familiar faces as possible for one last visit.
“Before we go, we’d love to see as many familiar faces as possible.” Julie added.
“So dig out your vouchers and get booking — we’re taking bookings until June 27th, 2026.”
