This fun foraging walk will show you how to spot edible plants

Irish fields and hedgerows are teeming with delicious, nutritious and useful ingredients.
The trick is knowing which fruits, leaves and flowers to pick… and which to avoid like the plague.
This weekend there’s a chance to learn the difference from a true expert.
On Saturday March 2nd, 2019 botanist and herbalist Jo Goodyear of Blackrock Herbal Clinic will host a foraging walk at the Marina in Blackrock.
A merry band of would-be foragers will meet at 2pm between Páirc Uí Chaoimh and the Atlantic Pond to explore the edible and medicinal plants of the local area.
As well as a lovely afternoon of fresh air and exercise, Jo will give the group the basics on what to look out for when it comes to foraging for wild food and remedies.
With the right know-how, you can use your finds in everything from balms and tinctures to cooking and even cocktail making.
