Are you a dedicated ‘plant parent’?
Lush indoor greenery is having a moment, with more of us than ever finding joy in watering a collection of beautiful plants on windowsills, balconies and terraces.
Now there’s a new way to give your display some extra oomph; cosmic plant pots are here and they’re about to start finding their way into your Instagram feed.
The best bit? This affordable, functional art is entirely made in Cork by Ceramifique, run by French artist Jean-Philippe Levillain and Irish artist Jennifer Ahern.
Ceramifique sell stunning handcrafted stoneware and hanging planters (perfect for ferns), bubble glaze airplant holders (pop in a Tillandsia and mount it on the wall) and succulent pots, starting from just €25.
The duo met in 2011 while doing degrees at Crawford College of Art and Design. After graduating in 2015, they founded Over the Line Studios, a ceramic and fine art studios in Ballyvolane Cork.
”At first we each had our own individual practices and range of ceramic products we were each developing but in 2018, after a series of random events, we decided to put our individual products together under the one brand and Ceramifique as we know it now was born!” they explain.
“We felt we filled the gaps in each others collections and together, could create something much more exciting.”
Ceramifique is a collaboration that brings together Jean-Philippe and Jennifer’s individual skills to create a unique collection of sculptural homewares and porcelain jewellery. Their signature bubble glaze gives the work a cosmic finish whilst keeping each piece unique.
To shop the range (they do some stunning bathroom ware and wall art too) visit the Ceramifique website or find them on Instagram and check out the Ceramifique exhibition currently on display in The Pink Moon Cafe on Washington Street.
