There’s a new group for creatives in Cork (and they’re having a party)

We’re a creative bunch on Leeside.
But if you’ve been feeling a bit lost in terms of finding talented folk to collaborate with, a new group could provide just the community you’re looking for.
Creative Culture is a new group set up to help Cork’s makers, doers and dreamers to share ideas and work together.
“The idea for Creative Culture was always brewing in my brain.” group founder, graphic designer Maya Shears told Yay Cork.

“As a creative person in Cork, I felt I was missing a place to connect, grow and be inspired with and by other creative people, especially across all disciplines of the arts.
“I wanted to create a thriving scene for the city that fosters collaborative spaces, multiplies opportunities and nurtures talent for the creative people of Cork. It’s important to me that we plant the seed for this space but that every creative in the community owns it. I created the foundations of this project for my final year showcase in Visual Communications and with the help of my amazing team at Babelfís, we have made it a reality.”

“An important part of what this community should be about is to bring together people from a wide range of creative disciplines, from design to fine art, photography and videography to music and just about any creative field.
“The inspiration we can all get by sharing ideas with those who work in different ways is really valuable. It’s for students, professionals, teachers and anyone interested in creativity.
You can join the community by signing up on the Creative Culture website.
They’re also planning a launch party on Thursday, October 10th, upstairs at The Liberty Bar, with DJ Carl D’Alton on the decks from 6pm.
