There’s a gin-soaked afternoon tea happening in Glengarriff

At last.
Now that all this ‘New Year/ new me’ nonsense is over for another year, it’s time to put a little fun back into your schedule.
And Glengarriff’s elegant Eccles Hotel has just the treat; West Cork Experiences is hosting a G & Tea afternoon at the venue on Sunday, March 4th, during which a selection of delectable sweet and savoury treats will be paired with Ireland’s finest and newest gins.
Having hosted famous guests including George Bernard Shaw, William Butler Yeats and Pippa Middleton, sister of the Duchess of Cambridge, the Eccles Hotel is well accustomed to rolling out the red carpet for an afternoon of high jinx.
This event is no different; the seaside hotel’s chef is planning an Asian-inspired afternoon tea menu, using the best of West Cork ingredients and Liquid Curiosity’s Jaq Stedman will introduce a range of gins carefully chosen to complement the food on offer to create some delicious afternoon tea pairings.
Local Beara distillery gin, Blackwater, Dingle and Listoke will be combined with seasonal foraged ingredients to create one-off libations – a dream day out for foodies and gin drinkers alike.
The fun begins at 2:30pm on Sunday, March 4th and tickets (€55) are available now through Liquid Curiosity, as the Eccles is closed until late February for refurbishment.
It’s just the spring treat we’ve been waiting for.
