Looking for the perfect pumpkin?
Some of the best in Cork are grown at the Cork Branch of Down Syndrome Ireland’s Field of Dreams in Curraheen, but if you can’t make it out there, this year; they’re coming to you.
As part of University College Cork Community Week, Field of Dreams will be hosting a Pop-Up Pumpkin Stall at UCC on Monday, October 11th and Tuesday, October 12th October, from 12 noon-2pm on both days.
If you are near campus, drop by Café Oasis in the Student Centre, where students will be selling pumpkins grown on their three-acre horticultural site.
“The students from the Field of Dreams work skills programme will also be delighted to tell you more about their drive-by initiative, where you can pick up your pumpkin at their facility in Curraheen throughout October.” a spokesperson for the project old Yay Cork.
Pumpkins will also be available at the Farm Shop in Curraheen throughout the month of October, Monday to Friday from 10am – 4pm. Prices will range from €5 to €15 depending on the size and there are some pretty enormous ones available this year.
UCC Community Week sees staff and students across the university come together with community and public sector partners to host community focussed events and activities.
