The first new coffee shop of 2023 is about to open on Washington Street

This is the kind of news we need in January.
Just as most of us will be requiring a steady supply of caffeine as we begin the New Year and return to work after a few weeks of sloth and gluttony, we’re about to have a brand new spot to pick it up.
Brightside opens on Washington Street on January 9th, 2023, serving Stone Valley coffee from Clonakilty as well as a selection of tasty bites to fuel your day.
The new venture by the baking whiz Kate Dempsey of the popular cookie stall Crumb.ie takes over the premises recently vacated by coffee shop Pink Moon, who have left in search of a more spacious HQ.
“We’ll be serving up a small menu of breakfast and lunch, lots of treats (Crumb cookies included), and coffee from the guys at Stone Valley,” Kate told Yay Cork.
“We really hope we can create a small, friendly space that brings good coffee, food, and people together.
To start, Brightside will be open 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday, starting Monday, January 9th.
