This popular drive-thru café is handing out free brews for an excellent cause

It’s the season of giving…
And we’re lucky to live in a community where so many people pledge their time and energy to help make a difference in other people’s lives. The crew over at BOX’D Drive Thru make it an annual tradition to raise funds for local charities and this year is no different.
This Sunday, January 1st, customers at the Carrigrohane Road business will receive a free takeaway coffee at the cafe in exchange for a donation- big or small.
“We want to start the year on a positive note and give back a little so we will be giving out all BOX’D! Coffees free of charge and all we ask is you donate whatever you can in return,” said BOX’D on Instagram.
“100% of proceeds will be donated and split 50/50 between Headway and the Marymount Hospice.”
Headway offers support and services for people affected by brain injury in Ireland, while Marymount Hospice delivers specialist palliative care and care for older persons in Cork City and County.
Last year the drive-thru cafe raised €2450 in just three hours. The crew later added another €550 themselves to take it to €3000, which was then split between Cork Simon Community and three-year-old Conor Kelly-Armstrong who sadly died in February of this year.
