The English Market is offering a start-up stall to one budding food business

It’s the centre of food culture in Cork.
And now the English Market is giving budding food entrepreneurs the opportunity to trade in Ireland’s most iconic food market.
The successful applicant will not only gain valuable experience in trading in the English Market but will also avail of a fully fitted-out unit that has been designed to the highest standard, avoiding expensive capital investment.
“By trading in the market, you will be able to trial products, assess demand and receive valuable feedback from customers, all while making valuable connections and learning from other traders, producers and suppliers in the market.” said a spokesperson for the initiative.
“The English Market invites applicants from start-ups that are in operation for less than five years to take on this rare opportunity if they can commit to being present at their stall demonstrating a passion for their products and engaging directly with their customers.
“Those who can demonstrate a commitment to sustainable food practices, from low ‘food miles’ to compostable packaging will be in strong contention. Joint applications are welcome, as are seasonal, one-off ventures.”
All cooking and 90% of processing/production must be carried out off-site and the Start-up Stall is not kitted out for hot food vendors, cafes or delis. If you are interested in finding out more about this rare opportunity, email [email protected]
