FIRST LOOK: Take a peek inside the brand new Black Dog on North Main Street

Brought to you by The Black Dog.
The doors are officially open.
The Black Dog will welcome regulars and curious new customers alike into the freshly refurbished bar this evening from 5pm.
And with a zingy new Mexican menu on the sizzle at the new-look Old Town Taqueria out back, it’s about to be one of our favourite places to drink.
Ireland’s first dedicated mezcaleria, The Black Dog boasts one of the country’s finest selections of tequila and mezcal, which the in-house mixologists have employed in their innovative new cocktail list.
A huge renovation project has seen the interior and exterior of the pub, owned by Benny McCabe, treble the size of the kitchen to focus on authentic Mexican food, smoked over coals on the in-house Kamado grill.
The menu will evolve weekly based on what’s in season so you can always expect something tasty to try on the menu.
A treat for music fans
Rock music will still be front and centre, with DJs from Thursday (Indie night, FYI) to Saturday and an all-new custom-made sound system built to spec by Toby Hatchet, the man behind some of the most talked-about sound systems in the country.
Hatchet’s creations grace venues such as Connolly’s of Leap to The Big Romance in Dublin and they look as good as they sound. At The Black Dog, the new speakers have been specially painted by world-renowned motorbike painter Ger Conlon.
The Black Dog is now open at No. 53 North Main Street. Keep an eye on their Instagram feed for updates.
