Snow Day: People are now SLEDDING down Patrick’s Hill

It’s like another world out there.
Happily, as Cork braces for the next blizzard, some locals are taking the opportunity to have some fun.
Cork photographer Miki Barlok captured these magical images of people whizzing down St Patrick’s Hill in Cork City during a midnight stroll.
The famous hill, just off MacCurtain Street, was turned into a makeshift slalom run, thanks to the full force of the Beast from the East.
And as snowdrifts began to pile up, these brave souls grabbed some boogie boards and made the best of it.
We don’t recommend trying this at home, but with traffic at a complete standstill in town, businesses shut and a flood warning in place to boot, you can’t deny it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
We’re expecting to see these ladies in the next Winter Olympics.
