Herb Garden Workshop

Location: Douglas Community Park (Meeting outside Douglas Community Centre)
The Vibe: Kick off the weekend by learning how to elevate your home cooking. Botanist Jo Goodyear is leading a free guided tour through Douglas’s community herb garden, showing you exactly how to harvest, prepare, and use fresh herbs like a pro.

One Garden, Many Kitchens: Global Recipe Launch & Food Tasting

Location: Togher Community Garden
The Vibe: Free food is the ultimate love language. Togher Community Garden is launching its second recipe book – packed with dishes contributed by international volunteers – and throwing open the gates for everyone to come along, grab a copy, and sample free homemade global dishes. Market Gardens of Cork: Heritage & Biodiversity Launch

The Vibe: For the history and visual culture lovers, Cork City Library is launching a new exhibition celebrating the growers and market gardens that shaped the city’s iconic food scene over generations. It’s an easy, interesting walk-through to kick off your Saturday in town.
Make Your Own Seed Bombs

Location: Children’s Food Tipi, Bishop Lucey Park
The Vibe: Get your hands dirty and make your own wildflower seed bombs to take home. Facilitated by community gardener Niamh Cawley, this quick hands-on workshop shows you how easy it is to bring a bit of guerrilla gardening and colour to local green spaces.
Farm-to-Fork Cook-Up & Garden Tour

Location: Murphy’s Farm Community Garden (Behind Bishopstown Tennis Club)
The Vibe: Freshly picked veg cooked live on-site by a top local chef? Say no more. Chef JJ from MTU is serving up fresh stir-fries and veggie burgers made straight from the garden plot. You can hang out, eat, and take a guided tour of the flower and veg displays completely free of charge.
Sunday, August 16th
Seed Sovereignty Panel Discussion

Location: Triskel Arts Centre
The Vibe: If you lean into eco-activism and sustainable food futures, hit up Triskel for an inspiring morning talk. MC’d by Kate Ryan, the panel features Sow Diverse, GIY founder Mick Kelly, and Talamh Beo discussing how to reclaim control over our food systems from the ground up.
Heritage Seed Swap

Location: Christchurch Courtyard at Triskel
The Vibe: Right after the talk, head out into the gorgeous Christchurch Courtyard for a community seed swap. Bring along open-pollinated heritage seeds in labelled envelopes to trade, or just drop by if you’re a beginner – there will be plenty of surplus seeds shared around to help start your own garden.
