A Cork beach sauna is hosting private candle-lit sauna sessions for couples on Valentine’s Day.
My Hot Spot, located on Redbarn Strand in Youghal, is offering the uniquely romantic date experience for one evening only, inviting couples to sink back and enjoy the muscle-soothing heat of the sauna before getting the blood pumping with a refreshing dip in the ocean.

As well as getting you in the mood for love, spending time in the sauna has some real benefits for your heart too.
A Finnish study of 1,621 men showed those who used a sauna regularly had a reduced risk of hypertension. In fact, among men who visited the sauna between four and seven times per week, the risk of high blood pressure was reduced by a massive 46 percent.
In a similar study published in 2015, doctors noted that increasing your body temperature by sauna bathing can cause blood vessels to dilate, increasing blood flow. They also found it toned the lining of the blood vessels, improving blood pressure.
“Our Private Couples Sessions are available from 6pm-9pm on the 14th for a romantic sauna session by the sea,” they announced on Instagram.
