Nando’s €12 Christmas Burger just dropped in Cork

It’s here.
As if we needed another reason to stroll down Academy Street or pop to Mahon Point for a cheeky Nando’s, the South African restaurant has unleashed its brand new, limited edition ‘Mzansi Christmas Burger’ on the city.
In a break from tradition, the monster sandwich does not feature so much as a slice of turkey.
Instead, its Bolo do Caco buns are stacked with a PERi-PERi chicken breast fillet and flame grilled thigh, a dollop of mushroom and chestnut pâté, cranberry sauce, festive slaw and crispy onions.
Mmmmm. Festive slaw.
Nando’s say it’s “inspired by traditional Christmas flavours mixed with some South African heat”.
Apparently, the word ‘Mzansi’ is a popular slang word for South Africa in the Xhosa language (one of 11 official languages of South Africa)” so that fully explains the Christmas connection… kind of.
In any case, here’s the important information: the Mzansi Christmas Burger costs €12.10 solo, €14.30 with one regular side and €16.50 with two regular sides.
Peri Christmas indeed!
