Hungry Hippo is turning one.

And the popular city burger spot is inviting customers to celebrate with them by inviting diners to choose any best selling burger on the menu for just €1 on Thursday, January 29th, 2026.

Located at 1/2 Courthouse Street, Cork City, next to the Courthouse on Washington Street and formerly The Bailey and Grand Central Social, The Hungry Hippo has had a busy 12 months in business.

“I’m absolutely delighted to be celebrating our 1st Birthday at The Hungry Hippo, and this is our way of saying thank you to the people of Cork for all the incredible support over the past year,” said Head Chef Maciej Sitarek.

“We’ve had some amazing highlights, from expanding our opening hours to seven days a week, catering for a major act after they played live at Musgrave Park in July, as well as hosting our sold-out murder mystery night. None of it would be possible without our brilliant team in both the restaurant and the kitchen, who work so hard every day.”

The €1 offer applies to all Hungry Hippo’s best selling burgers, which usually start at €15, and is available to all reservations on the day. All customers have to do to avail of the offer is book in on January 29th here.
