Met Éireann says this is the best time to hit the beach during Friday’s mini heatwave

Hit the road early.
That’s the advice from Met Éireann today as Cork sunseekers prepare for the first proper beach day of summer 2022 on Friday.
Even though the initial ‘heatwave’ temperatures of 26C have been revised down to a slightly cooler 23C, it’s still looking like a glorious day is in store for most of Munster with the best of the heat due early in the day.
According to forecasters, we can expect a “dry, warm, and sunny” start tomorrow, so securing your spot on the sand in the morning will allow you to soak up the warmest rays.
“Highest temperatures will occur early in the day reaching 20 to 23 degrees. It will become cloudier as the day goes on and as winds veer westerly later it will turn much cooler and fresher. There’ll be a little patchy rain in the northern parts of the province.”
Cooler weather for the remainder of the weekend
There will be a big change in the weather on Saturday when cloudy conditions will persist through much of the day and highest temperatures will range between 13 to 16 degrees.
“Scattered showers will persist along Atlantic coasts on Saturday night with a mix of cloud and clear spells elsewhere.” said the forecaster.
“Sunny spells and isolated showers on Sunday morning will give way to a mostly dry and sunny afternoon with highest temperatures of 14 to 18 degrees in moderate to fresh north to northeast winds.”
