This Cork-based company sells some very cute Pride apparel

One Cork-based company is offering customers options when it comes to flying the rainbow flag during Pride month and beyond… and we’re tempted to order one of each item.
Launched this week by Lukas Samuel Jestrabek, who hails from the Czech Republic, Bear Max is a start-up clothing brand offering a wide range of fun and unique t-shirts, sweatshirts, and accessories.

“I was always a crafty person and was interested in digital design and thought it would be a great idea to put my work on sweatshirts and t-shirts,” Lukas told Yay Cork.
“While working on Bear Max, I had a vision of a bear that would be the face of the brand. I got in touch with my friend who then designed the actual bear. I was able to create sketches to help the process and he was able to finish the final look.”
The first-time fashion entrepreneur then enlisted his mates to model the collection:
“All models that you can see in Bear Max photos are my amazing friends – an awesome mixture of personalities, backgrounds, and nationalities. We have people from Japan, the Czech Republic, Greece, Ireland, Sweden, Iran, and Spain and I could not do it without them.
“I can sometimes be very demanding for photos and how they should look but they are always so patient and kind.”
Having spent nine years in Birmingham in the UK, Lukas said his move to Cork was a big change, but one that gave him “a great step forward” in his professional and personal life.
“Cork itself has a lot to offer – from the inclusive running and rugby groups, to drag school and the amazing Gay Project that has always awesome events,” he said.
“With Cork Pride getting bigger and bigger each year, that simply shows how accepting the city is.”
