Met Eireann has issued a Status Yellow weather warning for Cork

It’s about to get pretty windy.
According to Met Eireann, the pleasant weather we’ve been enjoying over the past few days is about to come to an end with freezing temperatures and gusts up to 90km per hour expected later today.
While everything seems calm in Cork City right now, the national forecaster has put a Status Yellow weather warning in place until 5pm this evening.
It’s expected to be particularly dangerous near the coast where a gale warning is in place, so keep that in mind if you’re heading towards the water this afternoon.
Tonight will be mostly dry with isolated showers but temperatures will fall below freezing, down to between minus one and minus two degrees.
