After making its debut in the UK over Christmas, Hortus Pink Gin finally hits Lidl outlets in Cork and across Ireland on Monday February 12th, just in time to make an excellent Valentine’s Day gift.

Available in Raspberry or Rhubarb and Ginger flavours, it’s a bargain €14.99 a bottle.

Cocktail connoisseurs have been pairing the Raspberry flavour with Champagne or sparkling wine for a pretty spritzer cocktail.

The Rhubarb & Ginger version is divine paired with spicy ginger beer in a tall drink, served over ice.

The Hortus Pink Gin launch is part of Lidl’s Valentine’s Day promotion, which includes a dozen sweetheart roses for €6.99, a dozen large headed roses at €9.99 or a whopping 100 red roses at the crazy price of €39.99.

At those prices there’s no excuse not to pop in and treat yourself to a bouquet (let’s face it, it’s easier than dropping hints to your other half).

Either way, we’ll be hitting Lidl for all our weekend supplies next week; pink gin makes everything fancy, even a Friday night on the sofa.
