Ooh, la la! Woo your Valentine with a 5-star French wine dinner

Oh, the romance!
There really is no substitute for fabulous food and great wine when it comes to seduction.
Just ask the French; a country so obsessed with l’amour their capital is known as the “City of Love”.
That’s why, if your aim is to woo someone special this Valentine’s day, a table at an exclusive tasting evening of fine food and French wines in the stunning Garden Room at Castlemartyr Resort could be the key to sealing the deal with your favourite foodie.
The five-star resort is partnering with the Château d’Anglès, La Clape winery in the South of France to host a superb five-course tasting menu designed by head chef Kevin Burke on Tuesday, February 13th from 7pm.
The 45 hectare Château d’Anglès, La Clape vineyard was reconstructed by Eric and Christine Fabre in 2001 to be able to balance the traditional grape varieties such as Mourvèdre, Syrah and Grenache for red wine and Bourboulenc, Roussanne and Marsanne for white wine.
And this long and luxurious meal is the perfect opportunity to taste the fruits of their labour.
Beginning with a Champagne reception at 7pm, guests will have the opportunity to enjoy an elegant selection of amuse bouche, starter, fish course, main and dessert, each accompanied by a carefully selected wine choice from the Château d’Anglès, La Clape portfolio, introduced by founder Eric Fabre.
Staring longingly into each other’s eyes as you eat is optional.
Seats at the exclusive tasting evening are available for €95 per person, with a special accommodation rate of €140 for a deluxe room, inclusive of breakfast (booking on 021 421 9000) if you plan to make a night of it.
Just don’t expect to have the energy for any pursuits more strenuous than a nightcap after dessert…
