FYI: Cork Airport warns of big change in travel documents required for UK flights

Bring your passport.
Cork Airport is reminding passengers that new travel document requirements will apply for travel between the Republic of Ireland and the UK for Aer Lingus and Aer Lingus Regional customers.
With effect from February 25th, all customers travelling on Aer Lingus or Aer Lingus Regional flights (including Irish and British nationals) between Ireland and the UK must present a valid passport or Irish passport card at check-in and boarding.
“Other forms of photo ID will no longer be accepted for travel on these routes.” they added.

If you’re heading further afield this year with the family, it’s worth noting some new requirements there too.
From February 25th, 2026, all children and infants travelling on international Aer Lingus flights must have their own travel document with a passport photo. At check-in, their passport details must also be provided as part of Advance Passenger Information (APIS).
Summer upgrades
The passenger experience at Cork Airport is set to become a whole lot easier this summer thanks to the introduction of additional technical equipment upgrades in the airport terminal building and across the airport campus.
New Wi-Fi hardware across the entire airport terminal building has installed 170% more access points, providing passengers with higher internet speeds (up to 200Mbs faster). They’ve also installed a series of new self-service, express bag check-in kiosks aimed at shortening check-in queue times and to enhance the overall bag-drop experience.
Last month, Cork Airport moved to a new car park booking solution which will make it even easier to prebook car parking ahead of a busy summer season and a third airbridge will provide more convenient access for passengers when boarding or disembarking an aircraft.
